Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM (may vary)
Location: Durham, NC

The Food as Medicine Program’s main initiative is the produce prescription program, which provides fruits and vegetables to people experiencing food insecurity and health issues. The initiative includes several different produce prescription programs that vary in funding source and implementation strategy.


The Program Associate is responsible for managing the implementation of Reinvestment Partners’ Food as Medicine programs on a day-to-day basis. The Program Associate will work directly with all internal and external program partners across program areas to ensure that the program(s) function properly and remain compliant with relevant regulations. The Program Associate will directly oversee all components of the program and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary. 


  • Oversee Food as Medicine program implementation and contribute to program design and marketing.
  • Manage monitoring, reporting, and compliance requirements for all Food as Medicine programs. 
  • Manage and organize all program data.
  • Work directly with the participating partners to set up new enrollment accounts, provide support to enrollers, and handle backend administrative management to troubleshoot any issues. 
  • Monitor enrollment activity across partnering agencies and make program adjustments accordingly.
  • Assist in managing the agency’s HIPAA privacy and security program. 
  • Report program outcomes to funders and granting agencies, including the USDA, NCDHHS, private foundations, and health payers. 
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining the agency’s IT infrastructure for delivering Food as Medicine programs at scale.
  • Manage the Produce Prescription enrollment portal:
  1. Work with RP’s SalesForce administrator to design effective and compliant enrollment workflows.
  2. Work with external partners to establish and/or fulfill technical requirements. 
  3. Work with RP staff to expand the enrollment portal’s functionality across program areas.
  4. Perform system administration functions within the portal (creating organization and enroller accounts, monitoring and approving enrollments as necessary, etc.).


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Program or project management experience
  • Experience in food and nutrition 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain solid working relationships with coworkers and customers

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Ability to analyze complex situations and solve problems
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail and familiarity working with large data sets
  • Basic skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and willingness to learn new software
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred


Full-time salaried position with benefits. Salary range $40,000-$45,000.
